INFORMATION FOR SCHOOLS - GATEWAY

If your school wants to be involved with Sfrito unit standards, this information is for you!

Sfrito works with schools to assist them to provide learning and assessment opportunities in the workplace through the Gateway programme.

What opportunities are available?

Sfrito has developed programmes in the Community Recreation and Fitness sectors.  Sfrito does not have approved programmes for the Sport, Outdoor Recreation, Snowsport, Dive and Nga Mahi a te Rehia sectors.

What are the criteria to offer a Sfrito Gateway Programme?

Below are some of key criteria that must be met before a school can offer a Sfrito Gateway Programme:

  • Student placement must be at a Sfrito Registered Workplace.  This ensures that the student will be provided with structured workplace learning and assessment.
  • Schools taking part in the Sfrito Gateway programme must sign a contract, in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), between the school, the workplace, and Sfrito. The MOU records each party’s obligations, the learning programme and the contract’s timeframe.  Please note that there is a cost for the administration of the MOU (see below).
  • Each student must have an individual learning plan detailing the proposed duration of placement, learning goals and industry specific unit standards.  This must be established prior to the programme commencing.
  • Each student is required to use Sfrito learning and assessment resources to complete the requirements of the unit standards.  Please note that there is a cost for the purchase of the resources (see below).
  • All MOU paperwork must be completed and sent to Sfrito for processing prior to the start of the programme.

How much does it cost?

Your school will be charged the following:

  • $150 (including GST) for each set of learning and assessment resources per student
  • $75 (plus GST) for the administration and processing of each MOU
